You have this awesome website, what are you doing to drive traffic?

If you aren't taking action to drive traffic to your site, it's simply a pretty site, and you're the only one admiring its beauty and its great functionalities.  With that being said, let's take a look at a few things you should be doing to grow your site and achieve your business goals.

 

 

 

1. Blogging

 

Blogging is a great place to start in getting your site noticed.  Search engines love new content. If you don't update your website often, the search engine spiders won't have reason to visit your site. I've found the easiest way to post new content is to start a blog.  Also, it's a great way to showcase your expertise.  If writing isn't your thing, invite guest bloggers.

 

Having an industry influencer publish a blog post on your site can help drive traffic both through organic search but also via that influencer promoting the content to their audience. This can also help to add more variety to your content and show your visitors that you are active in your field.

 

2. Post to Social Media

 

Social media is one of the most popular free marketing tools around and plays a role in driving traffic to your website. Use Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc., to promote blog posts and other useful content on your website. This is an excellent way to get your social media followers to your site, as well as users who follow the people who share your content. 

 

3.   Newsletter subscribers.

 

Turn site visitors into newsletter subscribers. If your content is informative and helpful, people will want more of it. Roll out a weekly or monthly email newsletter in order to build an email list. Despite the fact that email is positively antiquated compared to the far more eye-catching modern social networks, email marketing works.  Don't count it out. 


 4. Customer reviews.

 

Leverage existing visitors and customers to get reviews online, which further increases visibility. Reviews are an excellent way to generate attention. Not only is word of mouth a good thing, but most of those sites use tags on their websites that allow Google to show business ratings directly in Google search results..
